The annual council meeting was held on April 20, 2008 after worship. The meeting was called to order and was opened with prayer. Secretary’s Report– Secretary's report was given. Report approved as read. Treasurer’s Report- Treasurer’s report was given. Report approved as read. Also showed a new report from the software to show a budget usage. Will look at report and decide to use it also. Financial Report- Financial report was given. Report approved as read. President’s Report– President's report was given by Jerry Gallmeyer. The corporation information was returned to Jerry. It will be put in the file cabinet for future use. Guide One invoice was sent to Jerry. That was given to Bobbi for payment of workman's comp. An invoice from Church Mutual was presented but we decided not to pursue this. Pastor’s Report–
We have a Baptism and new members coming to the church. Pastor has
been reading and studying. Not ready yet for walk thru with emergency
management. Confirmation will be this next weekend. There are 6 kids. They
will have a lunch after church for the congregation. Committee Reports- Trustees– Rural water maybe sometime in May. We haven't really heard. We are still looking for map of landscaping so we can plant trees for memorials. Finance - No report. Cemetery - They met to figure how to get more plots. At this time there are 11 plots left. Have gotten 30 more plots toward the flag pole. Possible 70 more going the other way. They will count and use a numbering system to keep track of them. Discussion was had about marking the ground for plots and having a sidewalk out to the west door to the cemetery. Motion was made to plot out as many plots that can be made and also add sidewalk out to west of church for cemetery use. Motion carried. Emergency Management - Posters were put up where fire extinguishers are. Fire extinguishers need to be re-looked at for the year. Old Business-Pastor talked about the organ having a light showing. The battery needs to be changed. We discussed what we needed to do about changing it. We don't want to lose programs but will have to pay service call for them to come and change the battery. Jo Ann Kramer will be donating $550.00 to the Education Fund for playing the organ. New Business - Dennis Magee family will be attending the Synod Assembly in Waverly. The youth would like to put ball holders up in storage area. Youth would like to get rid of the sport tables in the storage area. They will need to find a storage item and bring to council for approval. Announcements– Next council meeting will be May 18, 2008 after Worship. Motion made to adjourn. Meeting adjourned.
