Council Minutes

The St. John's Bennington Lutheran Church council met on January 18, 2012 after worship. Members present were Pastor Thalacker, President Mark Schumacher, Jeff Seamans, Willy Wolff, Jim Mixdorf, Gayle Wolff, David Lee, Trent Zuck, Brandy Zuck and Gary Mixdorf.


President Mark Schumacher called the meeting to order. Pastor opened the meeting with prayer.

Secretary's Minutes
were read and approved.


Treasurer's Report was given and approved. David also reported that he has completed running back ground checks on people dealing with our youth. This is a required item to be updated each year.
 

Financial Secretary's Report was given and approved.

President's Report:

Mark thanked everyone for their help and support during his term in office.   

Pastor's Report:

Pastor Thalcker thanked those who were leaving council. A thank you letter was read by a family who received a gift from the Helping Hands Fund. New members Scott and Nancy Butville and their children will be transferring to St. John's. A motion to accept these members was made by David and seconded by Jeff. Motion carried.          

 

New Business:

None.

Deacon's: Jeff reported there are 12 people signed up for the CPR class the end of January.  

 

Trustee's: Gary is still checking on getting the carpets cleaned.  

 

Constitution Update:

There are still problems in updating our constitution and getting it passed by the Synod Office. The original constitution was written and passed in 1942, the next one in 1996 was never officially passed. Pastor's recommendations is to start over with the 1942 copy and update it according to the requirements needed for the Synod office to accept it. This will be brought up at the Annual Meeting.

None.

A motion to adjourn was made and carried. The meeting was closed with the Lord's Prayer.
